Roger Alexander Deakins (born 24 May 1949) is an English cinematographer best known for his work on the films of the Coen brothers and Sam Mendes. Deakins is a member of both the American and British Society of Cinematographers. He received the 2011 American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Lifetime Achievement Award. Deakins has received ten nominations for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography without a single win.
